Agrocrats Society of Rural Development (ASORD) is one of the Civil Society Organisations involved in the implementation of High Impact Mega watershed Project in Margarlod block of Dhamtari district in Chhattisgarh. 

ASORD has been working with rural communities in Chhattisgarh since 1995 and are currently working in Gariyaband, Mungeli, Bilaspur and Dhamtari district. Under Mega watershed project, they have been engaged in planning and implementation works under MGNREGA since November 2018. There major themes of work are Livelihood promotion, watershed management, promoting financial inclusion by microfinance and supporting women Self Help Groups (SHGs) in documentation and digitization

bastar sevak mandal

Bastar Sewak Mandal (BSM) is the CSO partner for intensive block Bakawan in Bastar district under the High Impact Mega Watershed project in Chhattisgarh. It is one of the civil society organisations implementing the project on ground and is responsible for supporting district MGNREGA cell in planning, capacity building and community mobilisation. BSM started its operation in 1976 and is currently operational in many blocks of Bastar. There are areas of engagement other than watershed management are promotion of education, strengthening of local governance, promotion of preventive care and promotion of women Self Help Groups.

In Bastar district, Jagdalpur Block has been selected as the non-intensive block where Bastar Sewak Mandal (BSM) will provide need-based support in planning for MGNREGA works. Gram Panchayat members and MGNREGA team will be primarily involved in the planning and implementation of MGNREGA activities. However, the capacity building of MGNREGA mates and Rozgar Sahayaks, PRI members and Self-Help Group members will be done by BSM. Further capacity building will also be done around improved agriculture and non-farm livelihoods.

Centre for Action Research and Management in developing Attitudes, Knowledge and Skills in Human Resources (Carm-Daksh) is the CSO partner for MGNREGA planning implementation and community mobilisation under the High Impact Mega Watershed project in Chhattisgarh. Carm Daksh started its operations in Chhattisgarh in 2003 and are working in multiple districts since then. Currently they are working in Bilaspur, Mungeli, Marwahi, Gaurella and Korba districts in the selected blocks. Under the Mega watershed project, they are involved in Paali block in Korba district. There major themes of involvement are Integrated Natural resource management, promotion of water availability, sanitation, and hygiene; non-traditional and innovative livelihoods with women and girls, strengthening Urban Governance and livelihoods of communities.

Chaupal Gramin Vikas Prashikshan Evan Shodh Sansthan is a Civil Society Organisation working in North Chhattisgarh since 2005.Since its inception years, it has been working in Sarguja district and now expanded operations in Korea, Surajpur, Balrampur and Jashpur districts also. Under Mega watershed project Chaupal is working in Lundra block as a partner Civil Society Organisation and is responsible for participatory and watershed-based approach planning of MGNREGA works in the selected villages. Major work of Chaupal has been with tribal groups particularly with vulnerable tribal groups on watershed management and ensuring food security, access to good health and nutrition, rights of people on natural resources and solar energy. They are also working on right to education and digital literacy

Lok Shakti Samiti is CSO partner for Ghargoda block in Raigarh district which is responsible for implementation of High Impact Mega watershed project. LSS has been engaging in the rural belts of Raigarh since 1996 and is currently working in many blocks of Raigarh, Sarguja and Jashpur districts. Under the project LSS is responsible for community mobilisation, participatory watershed planning and supporting MGNREGA cell. In addition, various initiatives for capacity building for SHG members and MGNREGA staff will also be taken during project duration. There other areas of engagement are tribal empowerment and awareness, strengthening self-help groups and advocacy for rights of people.

In Raigarh district, Kharasia block is the non-intensive block where Lok Shakti Samiti (LSS) will provide need-based support in planning for MGNREGA works. Gram Panchayat members and MGNREGA team will be primarily involved in the planning and implementation of MGNREGA activities. However, the capacity building of MGNREGA mates and Rozgar Sahayaks, PRI members and Self-Help Group members will be done by LSS. Further capacity building will also be done around improved agriculture and non-farm livelihoods.

PRADAN

In Narharpur, Professional Assistance for Development Action (PRADAN) is the Civil Society Organisation implementing the project. PRADAN Narharpur team has been engaging with community members specially women since 2009 and has been active in formation and nurturing of women self-help groups and community-based organisations. The key themes in which organisation are involved are agriculture and farm-based livelihood strengthening, promoting non-farm livelihoods such as Poultry and livestock and planning and implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.

PRADAN team has been actively involved in community mobilisation, providing training to various stakeholders on watershed principles and ensuring that plans are made on a participatory basis. They are also involved with MGNREGA block and district functionaries to ensure that plans get sanctioned and are implemented in a quality way. Under this PRADAN will be planning MGNREGA and watershed activities at the household level.

Sahbhagi Samaaj Sevi Sanstha

Sahbhagi Samaj Seva Sansthan is the CSO partner for implementing High Impact Mega Watershed Project in Chhattisgarh in Uttar Bastar Kanekr district. It is implementing in Charama block in 40 Gram Panchayats. They have established a training and facilitation centre in the region and have been continuously doing capacity building and training of farmers in the region. There major themes of engagement in the villages are varied and they have been working in the region since 2002. They are working in the domains of land and water treatment under MGNREGA, increasing cropping intensity and productivity through scientific and innovative methods of farming, strengthening nonfarm based livelihoods, Non-Timber Forest Product Collection and processing, and conserving local seed varieties.

Sangata Sahbhagi Grameen Vikas Sansthan (SSGVS) is the CSO partner for implementing High Impact Mega watershed project in Pratappur block in Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh. SSGVS has been working with rural communities since 1999 and is presently working in Surajpur and Ambikapur districts. In the project, SSGVS is responsible for promoting participation of community members in planning activities under MGNREGA based on watershed principles. Along with watershed management organisation is also involved in promoting scientific farming and ensuring rights and entitlements of rural communities.

Sarguja Grameen Vikas Sansthan (SGVS) is a civil society organisation working in Balrampur district as partner Civil Society Organisation and is responsible for implementation of Mega watershed project in Shankargarh block in Balrampur district.

In addition to Shakargarh they are also operational in Wadrafnagar and Kusumi blocks. They are responsible for supporting district MGNREGA cell and in ensuring participatory and watershed principles-based planning for MGNREGA activities. The organisation is also engaged in agriculture promotion and productivity enhancement through promotion of scientific methods and capacity building of farmers.

Shamayita Math is the CSO partner for implementation of High Impact Mega Watershed project in Dantewada district. Here Dantewada block has been chosen as intensive blocks and Shamayita Math is responsible for planning for MGNREGA works through participatory methods and based on watershed principles. They have been working in Dantewada since 2008 and presently also working in Janjgir Champa and Baloda Bazar districts. Shamyita math is also engaged in livelihood promotion, water conservation, Sanitation & Hygiene, Institution Building, Healthcare services, Education and Skill Development.

Samerth Charitable Trust is CSO partner for implementation of High Impact Megawatershed project in Bodla block of Kawardha District. Samerth trust has been operational since 1992 and works with different funding agencies in many districts of Chhattisgarh. At present it is working in Raipur, Mahasamund, Kawardha, Surajpur, Mungeli, Rajnandgaon, Janjgir Champa, Raigarh, Dhamtari and Baloda bazar districts. The CSO is working for ensuring quality and hygiene of drinking water, building capacities of functionaries for watershed development and land treatment, reduction of malnutrition amongst women and children and ensuring better education in rural areas.

Self-Reliant Initiatives through Joint Action (SRIJAN) is the CSO partner for supporting MGNREGA cell and for community mobilization in Bharatpur block. SRIJAN is working in many regions of India with a focus on soil and water management and strengthening community institutions. They are working on strengthening the income and livelihood capacities of families in rural areas by collaboration with different funding agencies. In High Impact Mega watershed Project in Chhattisgarh, they are responsible for the preparation of plans for 41 Gram Panchayats for MGNREGA in a participatory way and based on watershed principles.

Chhattisgarh Mega Watershed Project is a joint initiative of the Govt. of Chhattisgarh, Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation and Axis Bank Foundation. This four-year project aspires to enhance the income of 100,000 small and marginal farmers on a sustainable basis, more than 40 percent of whom belong to the Scheduled Tribes through a consortium of 13 CSOs
